Arilbred Iris are hybrids produced from crossing the aril iris with the more common bearded irises. Aril Iris are from desert or arid dry climates and have distinctive dark or black spots in the beard area and are often veined. The Arilbred hybrids are easier to grow and still display the distinctive characteristics of the arils. They usually bloom earlier than the TBs, with the SDBs and the IBs.
